Indications:
Adults and Adolescents
Infections caused by Cefepime-susceptible pathogens:
-Pneumonia 
-Severe urinary tract infections
-Skin and soft-tissue infections
-Empirical treatment of patients with febrile neutropenia
-evere/complicated intra-abdominal infections , including peritionitis and gallbladder infection
-Prophylaxis in intra-abdominal surgery
Children (2 months to 12years )
For the treatment of infections caused by Cefepime -susceptible pathogens:
-Severe pneumonia
-Severe urinary tract infections
-Skin and soft-tissue infections
-Empirical treatment of patients with febrile neutropenia
-Bacterial meningitis. 
Contra-indications:
-Cefepime is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. other cephalosporin antibitics and beta-lactam antibiotics. In cases of penicillin allergy,vigilance is required for signs of a possible cross allergy.
-Due to its L-arginine content, Cefepime is further contraindicated in patients with L-arginine hypersensitivity and acidosis . Caution is therefore advised in cases of hyperkalaemia.
-Caution should be exercised in patients with any history of allergy , particularly to medicinal products , or in petients with bronchial asthma, urticaria and hay fever.
Overdose:
In cases of severe overdose , particularly in patients with impaired renal function , haemodialysis can assist in eliminating cefepime from the body. Peritioneal dialysis has no benefit .Unintentianal overdose has occurred when patients with renal dysfunction were administered high doses . Symptoms of an overdose include encephalopathy( impaired consciousness , including confusion , hallucinations ,s tupor and coma),myoclonic seizures and neuromuscular excitability.
